Yesterday

I outgrew my hate

and love for you today.

I cherished one but

abandoned both at once.

In that instance

the emotions slithered away,

quicker than the snake

I saw in the park, yesterday.

Loneliness

So unhappy we were

to see her die,

for we didn’t understand

her cries for help.

She, though, didn’t get

the lethality of loneliness.
